Our E-Commerce team is looking for a Technical/development manager reporting to the vice-president, operations. he incumbent of the position will need to have solid technological experience and strong leadership skills as he will be called upon to work with Orckestra's multidisciplinary teams. As Technical Lead, the incumbent will be required to act as a motivator and facilitator to ensure compliance with best practices.

The Technical Leader will contribute to the technological orientation of the solutions developed by Orckestra and its clients. The incumbent will have a global knowledge of Orckestra's offers and services and will be called upon to communicate them to his team members. The main function of the role is to support his team by providing coaching, to ensure the good performance of his team members and to evaluate their performance. He must also ensure that quality standards and deadlines established by management and the client are respected.

Through enlightened leadership, the incumbent will communicate industry best practices and participate in Orckestra's blog and the creation of related content. The incumbent will also participate in Orckestra's efforts to ensure the visibility of its products and service offerings.

Main responsibilities:

  • Support a team of developers on a daily basis to prioritize workloads by checking time scales and requirements associated with tasks;
  • Monitor delivery quality levels and escalate any issues;
  • Correct existing functionality and process requests for new changes;
  • Identify problems and work with other team members to recommend solutions;
  • Intervenes in complex situations and acts as a technical advisor to the team;
  • Works closely with the Software/Solutions Architecture team to ensure coordination of efforts;
  • Collaborate in decision-making processes to select the best technologies and solutions to build
  • Orckestra's technology portfolio;
  • Act as a replacement for team members in case of absence or unavailability as required;
  • Coordinate the implementation of the agile method, ensure its follow-up and contribute to its improvement;
  • Plans, organizes and participates in team meetings by sharing best practices and industry knowledge;
  • Provides coaching and mentoring, acts as a facilitator/moderator, problem solver and participates in team workload;
  • Manage the team by coaching and mentoring team members through weekly team meetings;

  • Understand Orckestra's offers and services and communicate this knowledge to other team members;
  • Contribute positively to open days, job fairs and interviews;
  • Promote ownership through monthly participation in Orckestra's blog, luncheon meetings, conferences and related content creation;
  • Possess the required knowledge and keep up to date on all aspects of the ways of doing things and new technologies used in their department and make their team aware and encourage them to follow the example;
  • Demonstrate open-mindedness, a good capacity to adapt to change and have a long-term vision to prevent and deal with the various demands of the role;
  • Demonstrates leadership, excellent communication and flexibility with respect to work schedule;
  • Ensures representation and adherence to company policies within the team.

Desired profile:

  • Desired experience in team management using the agile method;
  • Leadership, excellent interpersonal skills, proven trainer and excellent communicator;
  • Good knowledge of the .net platform;
  • Excellent skills in CUs;
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft server products: Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS), Microsoft
  • Visual Studio Team System, Microsoft Commerce Server, Microsoft SQL Server;
  • Motivated, dynamic, autonomous and well-organized person;
  • Good teacher who likes to transmit his knowledge and raise the level of expertise of his team members;
  • Highly autonomous, flexible and able to adapt to changes;
  • Excellent management of priorities and resistance to stress;
  • Maintains a positive attitude even in chaotic situations;
  • Ability to inspire energy, a desire to surpass oneself and team spirit in colleagues;

  • Bilingualism (French and English) both orally and in writing.


  • Bachelor's degree in software engineering, IT or related field (or equivalent);
  • Minimum of five (5) years experience in information technology;
  • At least three (3) years of experience as a team leader on large projects.
